2011 Lexus CT200h Hybrid Coming to Michigan

Meade Lexus of Lakeside is revealing the price tag of its newest model, the 2011 CT200h Hybrid, as the release date approaches. For less than $30,000, drivers will be able to get their hands on the wheel of this fifth Lexus hybrid—making it the cheapest Lexus yet.

The 2011 Lexus CT200h luxury hybrid will have a starting price of $29,120, plus delivery fees of $875, and will be accompanied by the highest combined fuel economy in the luxury segment with a rating of 42mpg and 43mpg city. With 60% less smog-forming emissions than the average new car, this latest hybrid brings more than just edgy styling and driving excitement--it brings an eco-friendly experience.

With four driving modes featured on the CT200h, Metro Detroit drivers can match the car’s drive characteristics to his or her own driving style. The EV mode allows for ultra-quiet running on electric motor power alone while Normal mode has an essentially linear throttle response and Eco mode emphasizes fuel economy. The Sport mode changes steering feel, accelerator response, battery voltage output to 650V, traction control response, and even the color of the instrument panel from blue to red, while turning the Hybrid meter into a tachometer.

Lexus has also created the industry’s first Electronic Device Holder, which will come standard on every CT.  This simple console-mounted device can easily hold most cell phones, music players, or portable navigation devices, in close proximity to the power and USB ports on the console—a feature that adds to the unique appeal for the eco-minded yet tech-savvy younger audience that the vehicle targets.

Standard 2011 CT200h Features Include:
  • Push-button start
  • Touch sensors on exterior front door handles
  • Leather-wrapped steering wheel
  • Six-speaker audio system with a CD player
  • Safety Connect
  • Bluetooth streaming audio
  • XM satellite radio
  • USB connector for iPod and MP3 players
  • Power lumbar seat support

Priced just $1,000 more than the cost of a hybrid in the non-luxury segment, while exhibiting the same elegance and safety standards modeled by previous Lexus hybrids, the 2011 CT200h allows drivers to affordably escape convention.

Send an email to marketing@meadeauto.com to be added to the Lexus CT200h VIP list to receive updates and invitations to see it and test drive it first.

“Time to Help” for Three Metro Detroit Car Dealers

Three local car dealers are offering more than holiday specials this time of year—they’re also offering a hand to bring holiday joy to local homeless families.

A Time to Help-Mitch Albom Detroit MIEmployees from Meade Lexus of Lakeside (Utica, MI), Meade Lexus of Southfield, and Meade Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram (Detroit, MI) are joining together with many more volunteers to give homeless children and parents a day to remember this holiday season. The day is Saturday, December 4th, and the occasion is an annual Christmas party put on by Mitch Albom’s “A Time to Help” organization.

"A Time to Help" began in 1997 to encourage volunteerism in Detroit—staging more than 100 projects thus far that include home-building, food delivery, repairs to homeless shelters, and the aforementioned annual Christmas party for homeless children and their parents. The special upcoming holiday party will bring joy to them in the forms of needed gifts, food, games, arts and crafts, and, of course, Santa.
Meade Auto employees and other volunteers will be meeting at Booth Evangeline Salvation Army in Detroit this Saturday morning, dedicating part of their day to helping create a heart-warming atmosphere that shelter residents have grown to cherish.

The Meade Auto holiday spirit is being spread even further with holiday toy drives taking place at each dealership until December 13th to benefit local children fighting cancer, as well as through more plans to volunteer with the Detroit Rescue Mission Ministries later this month.

Part of The Meade Group’s mission is to share its good fortune by supporting a variety of programs that nurture the health, education, and well-being of those in need in the Detroit metropolitan area.

This holiday season, these automotive dealers continue to do just that.

Meade Lexus Hosts Holiday Toy Drive to Support Local Kids Fighting Cancer

Detroit Car Dealers Support Kids Fighting Cancer“Keywords from yesterday: School drop-off, work, school pick-up, dinner. Keywords from today: Blood transfusions, bone marrow aspirations, spinal taps, neutropenia.”

Mickey Guisewite describes the time when she discovered her son had Leukemia—when her world was turned upside down with panic and uncertainty as he fought for his life. Although her son has since successfully completed his treatment, the memory of the experience still remains. And her mission is now to support the experience of others through her nonprofit organization, “The Bottomless Toy Chest.”

“The Bottomless Toy Chest,” based in Birmingham, is devoted to delivering toys and crafts to local children to keep their spirits up as they undergo cancer treatments.  And our three local dealerships want to raise as many spirits as possible in time for the holidays. Meade Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram, Meade Lexus of Lakeside, and Meade Lexus of Southfield are each hosting a Meade Holiday Toy Drive to begin Monday, November 22nd.

Each Meade dealership will be accepting donations for three weeks and then will round up employees to participate in a “Wrap Party,” where every collected item is gift-wrapped and prepared for patient delivery.  The Meade dealerships are conveniently located throughout Metro Detroit, hopefully helping to encourage community support from their surrounding areas.

With cancer treatments come daily challenges for both children and parents, and Guisewite has experienced firsthand the immeasurable difference that a strong support system can make.

“‘The Bottomless Toy Chest’ is here to be part of that support system,” she says.

And with your support as well, blood transfusions and spinal taps can alternate with another set of keywords: Excitement and encouragement to stay strong.
